CDC reports abortions down 4% in 2012
The Centers for Disease Control recently released their 2012 report on abortion. The CDC collects and compiles information on reported abortions from states which require abortion reporting. Some states do not report abortion statistics to the CDC so the CDC statistics aren't complete but they can help provide information on trends in abortion statistics. The CDC reports that the numbers of abortions, the abortion rate (abortions per 1,000 women aged 15-44) and abortion ratio (abortions per 1,000 live births) are at historic lows.

Numerous health violations found at Georgia abortion clinics
A local news station in Georgia did some investigative work into their state's inspection of abortion clinics and what they found wasn't pretty.
FULL STORY
Geary got the inspection records for all five clinics three weeks after filing the open records request. Some of them were pages long, listing numerous violations. Those violations were for items like expired medications and medical instruments, including speculums. Others listed unsterilized equipment, sterilized and non-sterile supplies stored in the same room with a traffic cone, the vent in a biohazard room taped off with cardboard, soiled linens in surgical rooms and stirrups wrapped in duct tape. One violation was for iodine swabs to prevent wound infections that had expired 10 years ago.
"If I was a patient at that clinic I would be horrified to know that maybe the tools they were using were not clean," said Galloway.
Planned Parenthood runs only one of the five surgical clinics. It's located in Augusta and had 23 violations in 2011, and paid a $1,400 fine.

What is the value we place on human life?
Right to Life of Michigan is dedicated to protecting and promoting the immeasurable value of every human life. We are the only statewide organization dedicated solely to that focus.
What is the value of a donation?
Here’s one unique example. Our compassion projects ads were on television in every season this year. If you’ve seen the ads, you know they courageously tackle one of the most difficult issues in the prolife movement from the first-hand perspective of women. It’s a perspective few people have heard before.
TV ads are just a small part of what we do. Research, literature, connecting women to pregnancy help services, connecting with students, connecting online; the list goes on. All of this freely offered for prolife people around the state to use in their personal educational efforts.
Please join our efforts to value every life and double your donation.

Michigan House Committee passes bills to ban dismemberment abortion
On November 10, the Michigan House Criminal Justice Committee voted 5-3 to pass both bills that make up our dismemberment abortion ban. Action now moves to the house floor. Your lobbying efforts are still needed!
One way to join this effort is taking part in our End Dismemberment Social Media Contest.
Contest submissions must be able to be shared as an image on social media. Some ideas for social media images include a call to action, image macro, quote, infographic, etc.
This is your opportunity to help educate others about dismemberment abortions, which happen every day in Michigan. Social media is a critical way for people to directly share information about prolife issues without passing through a media filter that is often more friendly to abortion supporters.
Entries must be submitted by December 4.

Longtime abortionist calls it quits in Indiana after multiple health and safety issues
There is good news for Indiana and southwest Michigan; abortionist Ulrich Klopfer will no longer be performing abortions in Indiana.
At one time, Illinois resident Dr. Ulrich Klopfer operated abortion clinics in three Indiana cities, including Fort Wayne. As of next week, he will have none.FULL STORY
That was assured Thursday when Klopfer dropped an appeal of the Indiana State Department of Health's June decision not to renew his license to operate a facility in South Bend, which the state had cited for multiple safety and health issues. As a result, the South Bend Women's Pavilion must cease doing abortions at the end of business Friday.....
The state's June investigation of Klopfer's South Bend facility revealed several deficiencies, including his failure to follow Indiana law that requires a woman to give her voluntary and informed consent and view the fetal ultrasound and hear the fetal heartbeat, at least 18 hours before an abortion.
