Back to Life is the theme of the 38th Annual Right to Life of Michigan Conference. The Conference will be Saturday, September 24, at the Causeway Bay Hotel and Conference Center in Lansing, Michigan.
Right to Life of Michigan President Barbara Listing said, "As prolife people gather from across Michigan, we have much to celebrate. A ban on the horrific partial birth abortion is on track to become law and I've seen a renewed prolife energy surge our state."
The Right to Life of Michigan Conference gives prolife leaders an opportunity to reconnect with others and re-energize for our life-saving work, Listing said.
General Session speakers include Phill Kline, the former Attorney General of the State of Kansas, and Ellen Salter, prolife mom and defender of life.
Kline was the first and only prosecutor ever to succeed in obtaining abortion records from Planned Parenthood which brought down the wrath of the abortion industry nationwide. As the reality of Planned Parenthood's extravagant abortion business comes to light, Kline is an in-demand speaker. He has spoken out to Fox News Channel, USA Today, the O'Reilly Factor and other media outlets. Kline is a real life story of David and Goliath-taking on the one billion dollar abortion industry.
Ellen Salter will speak on accepting the gift of life, no matter how it is wrapped. Ellen gave birth to Meghan, her fourth child, in October 2002-another healthy baby girl. But, less than two months into Meghan's life, she started developing serious problems. Her limbs grew limp with no explanation. Then one day Meghan stopped breathing. That day Meghan was flown for the first time to the University of Michigan's Mott's Children's Hospital in Ann Arbor with many more helicopter flights in the years to follow along with regular surgeries on her spine to help her breathing. Meghan's mysterious health problems continue to baffle doctors. Ellen's life experiences give her a unique opportunity to speak for those who do not have a voice like Meghan. Ellen shares the joy of caring for others bringing an inspirational prospective on the importance of our work.
During the Conference luncheon, Sen. Arlan Meekof, sponsor of the Partial Birth Abortion Ban, will give an update on the legislation. Votes are expected on the Partial Birth Abortion Ban in both the Michigan House and Senate this week.
In addition to the General Session speakers and Sen. Arlan Meekof, the RLM Conference also includes the Annual Meeting where board members are selected and a variety of interactive workshops.
