Well before Monday, Jessen almost didn’t make it past her own birthday. Her biological mother was 17 when she had a saline abortion in her third trimester. Jessen was born alive but was diagnosed with cerebral palsy because of complications from the procedure.
“I survived an abortion by the grace of God,” she told the crowd at the Grand Traverse Resort. “They did not know who they were trying to kill.”
