Senator Debbie Stabenow (D-MI) was one of 26 U.S. Senators who signed a letter which attacked the Susan G. Komen for a Cure's decision to stop providing grants to Planned Parenthood, America's leading abortion provider. The letter praised Planned Parenthood as a "trusted provider of health care for women" and urged Komen to reconsider its decision to defund the abortion giant.

Komen decided to stop providing grants to Planned Parenthood as part of new policy to not provide grants to organizations under governmental investigation and a new drive to providing direct funding to organization which provide mammograms. Planned Parenthood doesn't provide mammograms and is currently being investigated by Congress and numerous states for the misuse of tax dollars.
